Morning Jazz Combo, Jazzy Dragons – Director Mr. Bazan

Wednesday -- June 7, Mondays -- 12, 19   CONCERT Friday, June 23rd

Class time: 9:00 a.m. - 10:30 a.m.  Each class is 1.5 hours Tuition: $165.00                                                                                                           

Registration Deposit of $40.00 accepted as of May 1st to ensure your student’s slot in the class (you may also pay the tuition in full). Please notify the store ASAP to register for the class and hold a spot. A 4-week, 1.5-hour   course for beginner students in a combo setting, including a concert with CD recording. Music will focus on both  Jazz and swing. Students will learn how to play in a small group/ combo-style setting. Valuable techniques include, soloing/improvising, blending, listening, musical exchange between other combo members, and development as both a soloist and a musical group player. May require a brief audition for Mr. Bazan if instructor is unfamiliar with student’s ability level.

Wednesday -- June 7, Mondays -- 12, 19    CONCERT Friday, June 23rd

Class time: 11:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.  Each class is 1.5 hours.                                                  

Tuition: $165.00 Registration Deposit of $40.00 accepted as of May 1st to ensure your student’s slot in the class (you may also pay the tuition in full). Please notify the store ASAP to register for the class and hold a spot. Music will be clarinet/chamber selections arranged for a clarinet quartet/chamber ensemble, mostly classical pieces. Students will have an opportunity to develop their small group playing skills, and perform in the concert in front of an audience. The concert will be recorded and a CD of the concert will be provided to each student.


Jammin' Jazzers – Director Mr. Bazan

Wednesday -- June 7, Mondays -- 12, 19    CONCERT Friday, June 23rd

Class time: 1:00 p.m. - 2:30 p.m.  Each class is 1.5 hours

Tuition: $165.00 Registration Deposit of $40.00 accepted as of May 1st to ensure your student’s slot in the class (you may also pay the tuition in full). Please notify the store ASAP to register for the class and hold a spot. A 4-week, 1.5-hour course for intermediate/advanced students in a combo setting, including a concert with CD recording. Music will focus on both Jazz and swing. Students will learn how to play in a small group/ combo-style setting. Valuable techniques include, soloing/improvising, blending, listening, musical exchange between other combo members, and development as both a soloist and a musical group player. May require a brief audition for Mr. Bazan if instructor is unfamiliar with student’s ability level. The concert will be recorded and a CD of the concert will be provided to each student.


SAX QUARTET – Director Mr. Bazan, and/or Mark Alletag

Wednesday -- June 7, Mondays -- 12, 19   CONCERT Friday, June 23rd

Class time: Tentative 3:00-4:30  Each class is 1.5 hours.

Tuition: $165.00 Registration Deposit of $40.00 accepted as of May 1st to ensure your student’s slot in the class (you may also pay the tuition in full). Please notify the store ASAP to register for the class and hold a spot. Music will be woodwind selections arranged for a small ensemble, some jazz and some classical pieces. Students will have an opportunity to play in a small group setting with other students of similar ability and develop their musical skills such as: sound and blending, dynamics in a small ensemble setting, preparation of a group of songs designed to culminate with a performance in front of an audience. The concert will be recorded and a CD of the concert will be provided to each student. *The Sax Quartet may have an additional opportunity to perform a half an  hour concert in northern Illinois for 500 people. Director will choose placement of students in group.


BRASS ENSEMBLE – Director Mr. Baldin

Wednesday -- June 7, Mondays -- 12, 19   CONCERT Friday, June 23rd

Class time: 11:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.  Each class is 1.5 hours.

Tuition: $165.00  Registration Deposit of $40.00 accepted as of May 1st to ensure your student’s slot in the class (you may also pay the tuition in full). Please notify the store ASAP to register for the class and hold a spot. Music will be brass selections arranged for a small ensemble, mostly classical pieces. Students will have an opportunity to play in a small group setting with other students of similar ability and develop their musical skills such as: sound and blending, dynamics in a small ensemble setting, preparation of a group of songs designed to culminate with a performance in front of an audience.  Mr. Baldin will choose placement of students in group.



AFRICAN DRUMMING ENSEMBLE (New this year!) – Director Mr. Gifford

Wednesday -- June 7, Mondays -- 12, 19    CONCERT Friday, June 23rd

Class time: TBD  

Tuition: $165.00  Registration Deposit of $40.00 accepted as of May 1st to ensure your student’s slot in the class (you may also pay the tuition in full). Please notify the store ASAP to register for the class and hold a spot. Mr. Gifford is directing an African Drumming Ensemble. Students will learn to play a style of music called Gahu, using sticks as opposed to hand drumming. Join in on the fun!
